A perennial favorite, everyone has a natural affinity to connect to the elemental powers of our our world and discover how these elements manifest within our own body, mind and spirit. This master class takes us deep into the study of the Five Elements of Chinese Medicine, where we discover our own elemental type.
We also begin to embrace the presentation of the element qualities in friends and relations that surround us. Particularly insightful for clinical applications with clients, you can discern when too much Fire needs a little Water, when not enough Water needs a little Metal, when Wood gets excessive and invades the Earth, and how to counter that invasion.
Having a grasp of Elemental Types and Qualities helps you to understand how it is that you “face” or “see” the world around you, and where your world, or the world of your clients or friends and family may be out of balance.
A special feature of this class will be the Elemental Meditations developed by Matthew over his 35 years leading Shiatsu Therapy training.
In this deep dive journey, Matthew takes participants in and through the powerful teachings and invitations presented by master authors Efrem Korngold and Harriet Beinfield in their master work on the Five Elements: Between Heaven and Earth. With 35 years of healing arts experience, 15 years in men’s groups and an uncanny knack for drawing out the insights from the written word, Matthew helps students dive deep into Five Element Theory and apply it to their own life and practice.
